Family glamping with Wiesenbett.
In 2016 while we were living in Germany, we discovered the website Wiesenbett. This #glamping website partnered with farmers from all over Europe that have some open fields on their farms, and builds their canvas and wood lodges. All the lodges have exactly the same floor plan, amenities, and decor no matter where the location.
For our first Wiesenbett #vacation, we picked the De Kalverweide farm in Kallenkote, Netherlands. We absolutely love the Netherlands, and had been wanting to visit the absolutely picturesque canal-filled village of Giethoorn. So, being just a short bike ride away from Giethoorn, this farm seemed like the perfect choice. From the moment we stepped foot on the farm and in canvas lodge, we were hooked. There was pedal cars and trailers for the kids to ride on, a trampoline for them to get rid of their constant energy, pigs to feed, hay to move around to feed the cows, chicken eggs to gather, and wood burning stove heated hot tub to soak in. There was fun for everyone in the family to be had. Naturally, Mama picked up her camera and started capturing some amazing images of us. After returning home to Germany, Julia uploaded some of the photos on Facebook and tagged Wiesenbett. Wiesenbett loved them and our partnership was established there. Since then, we've been to three more farms to photograph more fun.
